The world politics without Bibi and trump

Today when I am writing down these lines the results for US midterm Elections are almost on final stage and it has become certain that Donald Trump is heading towards humiliating defeats in both of his houses.

In the entire world very, few people would be there, who are not feeling joy on this humiliation for Donald Trump who turned no stone unturned to inflict catastrophe on the whole world and not a single state head was there who did not feel embarrassment from Trump. His tantrums and unpredictable impulsive behavior have made the global politics hostage around his decisions and statements. He made sure that rules of game for politics and policies be rewritten with all classical rules and principles for politics and policies be reevaluated.

His unilateral decisions on economic policies and foreign policies not only reduced the moral stature of USA in international relations but his decision to support Israel and Benjamim Netanyahu in their efforts to attack Iran and eliminate Ayatollah Khamenei were also a pathbreaking decisions from US foreign policy , Benjamin Netanyahu build all his political career around his theory of Iran being an axis of evil to existential threat to Israel and he pursued almost every President of USA since 1996  to support his plan to attack Iran and eliminate Ayatollah Khamenei but none of them except Donald Trump succumb to the pressure of Netanyahu.

Benajamin Netayahu and Donald trump were the dream figures for the military industrial complex who put their priorities as their policies on every other thing.

The real conflict between left and right in global politics had always been for hundreds of years to allocate more budget on social security issues or military industrial complex.

The genuine concern for defense needs and creating the demands for profiting the military industrial complex are two different things. Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu created demand for profit of Military industrial complex.

In this process all other priorities were ignored.

The general elections in Israel and mid term Elections in USA were eagerly awaited across the world and equally watched keenly from the people of the world how humanity has transformed to respond to Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu.

The people of USA and Israel have responded the same way as people of the other countries would have responded to these issues. The burden of unnecessary war or inflicting the war for personal reasons or calculations can not be put on the shoulders of the ordinary people and Donald Trump and Benajmin Netanyahu both tried to do the same.

Donald Trump and Benjmain Netanyahu both had the issue of legacy before them. Donlad Trump had the legacy issue before him. He tried to do something extraordinary which none of the Republican President ever did and he found the answer in Israel and supported Netanyahu to attack Iran and Benjamin Netanyahu too had the issue of legacy before him and he tried to the solve the existential issue of Israel with his doctrine of eliminating the threat of Iran and axis of Evil for Israel.

Donlad Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu both made the global politics hostage to their ambitions and calculations and for months the whole world paid the heavy price for their decisions.

Since 1993 when Oslo accord was signed, Benjamin Netanyahu builds all his political career on the issue of security for Israel and in last decades he not only transformed the politics of Israel but made Israel the central figure to define the right-wing politics. In current global political scenario, the definition of right-wing politics is not complete with the condition, whether one support Israel or not. But in doing so, Netanyahu stretched this leverage too far and overestimated the relevance of Isreal in global context.

As was with  the case of 9\11 the then President of USA Geroge W bush enjoyed the consensus in war on terror but later  stretched it too far when he unilaterally invaded Iraq and broke the consensus to become isolated on that issue, the same fate has happened with  Benjamin Netanyahu when he enjoyed the consensus on 7th October 2023 , when Hamas attack took place in Israel , but broke the consensus , once decided to attack Iran and Eliminate Ayatollah Khamenei.

Donlad Trump too broke the accepted principles of right-wing politics and tried to redefine it unilaterally. During this process he reduced the stature of USA and declared his intent to Make America Great Again but ended up in Making America little as ever.

In present Context USA is suffering with huge deficit of trust among the nations and even among those countries who were once considered as allies to USA.

Donlad Trump boasted about its military capabilities but ended up with humiliation for their allies in Middle East once USA defense umbrella was exposed before conflict on Iran and those countries in Middle east who were relying on USA for their security felt betrayed.

USA under Donlad Trump tried to bully the developed nations and global south with threats of tariff and dollar dominance, sanctions on nations but ended up with higher inflations and high prices for their consumers at home in USA.

People are asking whether, humiliations and electoral defeats for Bejamin Netanyahu and Donald trump will have some implications for Narendra Modi or not?

The answer is, it will have mixed effect on him. Personally, it will be a setback to him as he always called them as his friends but on the policy front it will not have any effect for nation as a whole, because India did not endorse the policies of both the leaders in toto.

Although Narendra Modi visited Isreal before Iran was attacked but during the war and after the war its policy have been consistent of non-interference and call for peace and diplomacy.

In the context of USA, it has also been the same. India did not react to every tantrum and impulsive behavior of Donald Trump as policy decisions of white House or Pentagon and did not succumb to the pressure of USA either to compromise its strategic autonomy.

The defeat of Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump both will have positive impact on India.

The end of era of Netanyahu will pave the way for diplomacy and peace negotiations in Middle East and middle ground will be find out between Israel and Palestine which has been the consistent policy of India since Israel was formed.

The surge of Democrats in the politics of USA will curb the impulsive and transactional politics of Donald Trump and more reasonable and rational voices will emerge in US administration to arrest the chaos and unpredictability in global politics inflicted by Donald trump.

  • The Road Ahead for New India

We Indian sometimes don’t realize that we are gradually becoming a country of rhetoric. We don’t realize what we aspire? How could we achieve it? And what sacrifices we need to achieve our goal?

Two slogans have been cornerstone of our nationalistic aspirations for last few decades. One, We are about to become super power and territorial integrity and unity of country has been taken for granted as Hindutva alone can insure the unity and integrity of country . With this mindset the surge of Hindutva in Indian polity since 1989 has been considered as a starting point for Indian revivalism.  (more…)

The surge of Hindu right in Indian politics

Western audience find rare chance to look to India in a stunned manner with a mixture of concern and its utility for them. In last few decades such situation has arrived rarely when westerns particularly elites and who matter in power politics have looked to India to watch it. The first such occasion arrived on 7th December 1992 when the whole western press was filled with the story of the demolition of the old mosque in holy city of Hindus in Ayodhya on 6th December where they brought down a mosque during their movement to demand a Temple at the birth place of their Lord Ram where in medieval period an Islamic invader Baber built a mosque in the process of his expedition to Hindu India . • How Hindu right turns left ?

How Hindu right turns left ?

In Last few weeks Modi government has exposed to the ever lasting dichotomy of Hindu rights in Indian politics. Although Hindu nationalists claim the division of right and left in modern polity is more a borrowed concpet for India as it was concptualised during french revolution where first parliament sat and those who sat on right side were termed as rights and those who sat on the left side became left but it was not so simple and had some ideological conotations for this. But division of right and left has not been so easy and in last few centuries it has journeyed  a long road  and several ideologies shaped this whole debate . In contemporary political scene only two things divide the debate of right and left , one who supports Israel and USA along with more free market economy are considered right  . (more…)

    BJP government’s Church dilemma

When I hear the loud noise of  the so called conversions in country  from both the sides of ruling BJP and opposition led by Congress in parliament  it reminds me the days of Atal Biharee Vajpaee government in 1996 and 1998  when the Indian media and western media witnessed a surge of stroies of so called christian insecurity in the regime of Hindu nationalist BJP. During the regime of Atal Biharee Vajpaee infamous Jhabua incident become lead story for months in Indian media and western media where allegations were made against Bajrang Dal activists ( A wing of broader RSS ideology family) for misconduct against christian nuns.
