    The surge of Hindu right in Indian politics

    Western audience find rare chance to look to India in a stunned manner with a mixture of concern and its utility for them. In last few decades such situation has arrived rarely when westerns particularly elites and who matter in power politics have looked to India to watch it. The first such occasion arrived on 7th December 1992 when the whole western press was filled with the story of the demolition of the old mosque in holy city of Hindus in Ayodhya on 6th December where they brought down a mosque during their movement to demand a Temple at the birth place of their Lord Ram where in medieval period an Islamic invader Baber built a mosque in the process of his expedition to Hindu India . The mob of thousands of Hindus gathers in Ayodhya and disobeyed their leaders and took charge of the situation into their own hands and demolished the old mosque to declare the resurgence of Hindus as a force on international theater in near future.     How Hindu right turns left ?

    In Last few weeks Modi government has exposed to the ever lasting dichotomy of Hindu rights in Indian politics. Although Hindu nationalists claim the division of right and left in modern polity is more a borrowed concpet for India as it was concptualised during french revolution where first parliament sat and those who sat on right side were termed as rights and those who sat on the left side became left but it was not so simple and had some ideological conotations for this. But division of right and left has not been so easy and in last few centuries it has journeyed  a long road  and several ideologies shaped this whole debate . In contemporary political scene only two things divide the debate of right and left , one who supports Israel and USA along with more free market economy are considered right  . (more…)

If you talk to any people ranging from any class to any gender or any age group one thing is very common that is aspiration for change. The change for which they are looking is not easy even for them to define also but they are looking for it. Most of the discussions are taking place from streets to restaurants and drawing room to Television channels are the political scenario of country post 2014 general elections.   • मोदी से कौन डरता है?

    भारत में आम चुनाव होने में वैसे तो अभी एक वर्ष का समय शेष है परंतु जिस प्रकार की चर्चायें और बहस राजनीतिक विश्लेषकों और राजनीतिक दलों के मध्य चल रही है उससे तो अलग ही संकेत मिलते दिखायी दे रहे हैं। इन सबके मध्य यह अवश्य विचारणीय विषय है और शोध का भी विषय है कि गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री देश और देश से बाहर सर्वाधिक चर्चा के केंद्र में क्यों है? गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने देश की राजनीति को ध्रुवीकृत कर दिया है  हालाँकि उस संदर्भ में नहीं जैसा कि उनके विरोधी चाहते हैं परंतु इतना अवश्य है कि आज की स्थिति में या तो आप मोदी के समर्थक हैं या उनके विरोधी । इसमें तटस्थ जैसी कोई बात नहीं रह गयी है। इसलिये इस पर चर्चा करना स्वाभाविक है कि नरेंद्र मोदी  विश्व भर के वामपंथियों और समाजवादियों को  क्यों फूटी आँखों नहीं सुहाते?     Although Indian parliament has almost one year to complete its term before general elections are being declared but the speculations, gossips and assessment are there to hint something else. Beyond all these buzz one interesting question remains unanswered why chief minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi is every time in discussion either from his admirers or from his baiters?  Narendra Modi is the second Non Congress leader apart from former BJP Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpaee who has been in discussion so often even before he has been officially announced as the prime Ministerial candidate from the largest opposition party BJP.   • क्यों होंगे मध्यावधि चुनाव ?

    कांग्रेस नीत वर्तमान यूपीए सरकार को बाहर से समर्थन दे रही समाजवादी पार्टी के प्रमुख मुलायम सिंह यादव ने दावा किया है कि उनके पास खुफिया जानकारी है कि केंद्र सरकार इसी वर्ष नवम्बर तक आम चुनाव करा सकती है। इसी बीच दक्षिण अफ्रीका में ब्रिक्स समूह की बैठक से लौटते हुए प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह ने आशा व्यक्त की कि एक बार फिर से केंद्र में यूपीए की वापसी हो सकती है।

    इन दोनों ही बयानों का आपस में कोई सम्बंध  तो नहीं है परंतु इन दोनों ही बयानों के आधार पर भविष्य की राजनीति के संकेत अवश्य निकाले जा सकते हैं। (more…)
