    How Hindu right turns left ?

    In Last few weeks Modi government has exposed to the ever lasting dichotomy of Hindu rights in Indian politics. Although Hindu nationalists claim the division of right and left in modern polity is more a borrowed concpet for India as it was concptualised during french revolution where first parliament sat and those who sat on right side were termed as rights and those who sat on the left side became left but it was not so simple and had some ideological conotations for this. But division of right and left has not been so easy and in last few centuries it has journeyed  a long road  and several ideologies shaped this whole debate . In contemporary political scene only two things divide the debate of right and left , one who supports Israel and USA along with more free market economy are considered right  . (more…)

  • The politics on encounters is deeper than it looks

    Two days ago one of the district court in Delhi delivered its verdict on the Batla House encounter case which happened in September 2008 days after serial blasts rocked the national capital . Before this blasts several other serial blasts happen in other parts of the country and the name of new terrorist outfit Indian Mujahideen surfaced in these attacks in which hundreds of innocent people lost their lives. On September 2008 Delhi police received the information of a module of IM in Delhi hiding in Batla House part of one of the densely Muslim populated area called Jamia Nagar.  Delhi police conducted the brave operation and one officer of the special cell Mohan Chand Sharma got injured and succumbed to injuries later.   • Shah Bano to Isharat Jahan we have returned to 80’s

    In the decade of 80’s I was merely a child but watching the developments going around me with great curiosity.  I can remember those developments in chronological order which happened after 1984. I was too young at the time of general elections for 1984 were in discussions and the failed experience of Janta Party was a great cause of worry among the opposition groups. Leaders like chandrashekhar ,  Chaudhary Charan Singh and Atal Bihari vajpee were preparing to make Congress out of power but the unfortunate incident of assassination of Smt Indira Gandhi happened and the whole political scenario changed in few days.     The social, political and economic atmosphere of country is charged with heavy discussion of uncertainty. If you talk to any people ranging from any class to any gender or any age group one thing is very common that is aspiration for change. The change for which they are looking is not easy even for them to define also but they are looking for it. Most of the discussions are taking place from streets to restaurants and drawing room to Television channels are the political scenario of country post 2014 general elections.   • Will Prakash Karat be new Harkishan singh Surjeet?

    Merely a one week ago the Congress strong man and leader from Kerala A K Antony hinted that Congress is not averse to doing business with left front if such situation arises. But general secretary of CPI (M) Prakash karat took only less than one week to respond to this congress overtures and laid down his plan for the next general elections where he will try to repeat Harkishan Singh Surjeet for himself. Prakash Karat hopes to repeat the era of 1996 in Indian politics and emerge as the pivotal to non congress secular front. (more…)

    भारत एक ऐसा देश है जहाँ कि राजनीतिक वर्ग के लोग और बौद्धिक वर्ग के लोग स्वयं पर विश्वास खो चुके हैं और आयातित शब्दों पर अधिक भरोसा करते हैं। इस देश में अनेक वाद आयातित किये गये हैं परंतु जिस वाद ने हमारे समाज को और राजनीति को सर्वाधिक क्षतिग्रस्त  किया है वह है “सेक्युलरिज्म”।  सेक्युलरिज्म के नाम पर देश में कोई भी सामाजिक और राजनीतिक अपराध ढका जा सकता है। (more…)

  • मोदी से कौन डरता है?

    भारत में आम चुनाव होने में वैसे तो अभी एक वर्ष का समय शेष है परंतु जिस प्रकार की चर्चायें और बहस राजनीतिक विश्लेषकों और राजनीतिक दलों के मध्य चल रही है उससे तो अलग ही संकेत मिलते दिखायी दे रहे हैं। इन सबके मध्य यह अवश्य विचारणीय विषय है और शोध का भी विषय है कि गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री देश और देश से बाहर सर्वाधिक चर्चा के केंद्र में क्यों है? गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने देश की राजनीति को ध्रुवीकृत कर दिया है  हालाँकि उस संदर्भ में नहीं जैसा कि उनके विरोधी चाहते हैं परंतु इतना अवश्य है कि आज की स्थिति में या तो आप मोदी के समर्थक हैं या उनके विरोधी । इसमें तटस्थ जैसी कोई बात नहीं रह गयी है। इसलिये इस पर चर्चा करना स्वाभाविक है कि नरेंद्र मोदी  विश्व भर के वामपंथियों और समाजवादियों को  क्यों फूटी आँखों नहीं सुहाते?
